Chennai a city in the southern part of India, now a booming IT hub. What’s there to see in Chennai? Chennai has one of the largest coastline and some of the longest beaches. Apart from the beach, there is a lot of shopping that can be done. If you like luxurious silk, cotton , you are in the right place. Just about 20 miles from Chennai , there is the city of Kanchipuram, where you can find pure silk materials, price range from $20 - $2000. It depends on the what you want. Apart from shopping and the beaches, there are the IT companies, which draws in large number of people from all over the world. There are massive construction that’s happening currently and real estate market is booming. Especially on the out skirts of the city, large lands are been bought by big multi million dollar company and large factories are being constructed. Its the right time to buy land in and around Chennai. But people who are interested in investing in real estate in India, its very important to find a reliable realtor and know someone who is local to that area and can talk to the sellers there. Definitely check the paper work, with the authorities before paying anything. India is rich in cultural history and now has a booming economy. What’s there to see in India, well we have the beach, and we have the cities, historical sites, food, shopping, outdoor events and more. There are things to do for everyone. Now in my recent visit I noticed that there is an incredible boom in IT industry, which in turn affects other industries as well, for example real estate. Massive constructions are currently been developed. Large open lands are on the market for sale. Food, do you feel like eating north Indian/ south Indian or something Afghani or sushi. That’s right you can fine almost any kind of food that suits you taste buds. What else, oh yeah historical sites, there are plenty of places to visit and its interesting to see the different cultural era’s that existed in India. We haven’t even gone to the next topic of people and culture that exists. In my next “Daily Me” edition we can see more on things to do in India.
Golden gate bridge, is one of the prettiest bridge ever built. On a clear day you can get a perfect picture, with the red bridge, blue sky, green hills on eigther side… sound like I am reading a fairy tale book. But its there and its very scenic.
If you want to try something different , try flying over San Francisco bay. How, where, what you may ask? Sea plan tour that can be taken, from San Francisco. Its a very different and thrilling experience. 45 mints flying around the bay, seeing the sky rise, stadium, Golden gate, natural bridge, Muir woods and the whole bay is very beautiful and especially the Golden Gate. Other than the site seeing, the whole idea of sea plan, taking of and landing on water is quite excitting. Its funny how little things can make you so happy.
I have heard people say, white is not a color. I would say white is the prettiest color. The reason is, white color, looks good on all people, they can be from any part of the world. Not only does it looks good on all people, it goes well with all other color, white and black combinations is a classic combination, red & white, white & blue, orange & white, white and Green… on and on… excellent color combinations. White is in this season as well… yes even for winter, have you heard of winter whites. White are in spring, are in during summer and even fall. A good idea is to buy a white shirt, suit, skirt and combining it with accessories, you can go from spring to summer to fall and even to winter.
Skinny Jeans are in this season, we have seen advertisements on that. But all the advertisements we see on TV portray, tall, lean women. But for full sizes it can make the widest part look even wider. So how to work around it?
Firstly is buying the jeans that fits you correctly, should fit the largest part of the body. Secondly pairing it with a longer top and accentuating it with a belt and a sleek pumps or boots. Skinny Jeans with boots is a totally hottest look this season… just love the look. Got to try it.
Well it’s the season to experiment, so hear we go again…
Time warp is a very tricking thing, once you are in it, it take you on a roller coaster , and keeps you so busy that you have no time to think about anything else and at the end of it , when it throws us out, we are in a totally different alien world.
There are a lot of people, who feel like they are stuck in a time warp, busy doing their daily work and cut off from the world and many don’t even realize it. This not only applies to day to day work, but also to fashion.
So it’s a good idea to break the routine and do something that’s totally different from what we normally do. Like trying cloths you never would normally try, you never know, that look may workout for you. Managing time is crucial and it even more important is to give your self time. Just like beauty sleep, give yourself 30 mints in 1440 mints (24hrs) is nothing, but have many benefits. 30 mints to break routine, pampering yourself, setting goals, meditating, yoga or workout.
So its up to us, we can be stuck in a time warp or break the cycle and wakeup.
Makeup is an everyday routine for most women. Most of us get up in the morning; squeeze in our makeup time, before rushing out to work school, shopping or where very we are going. Just few stroke of brush and color we feel good about ourselves.
There is no one standard way of applying your makeup, one person may prefer to enhance their eyes with makeup, while the other person may prefer enhancing their lips. Makeup is just being creative, its trial and error sometimes or even just experimenting new ideas.
Here are fall runway looks, that we can experiment with, and if it looks good, we can incorporate it in our daily routine. Blush is totally in these days, actually will look good on everyone; just make the skin alive and fresh. The trick is choosing the right color blush, Maybeline has a good range of shades and you can probably find the color that looks the best on you. Natural brow, not over plucked, not the single line brow, the season is natural looking brow, but well shaped. I really prefer threading to waxing, just because the shape looks better. If you have thin brow, try not over plucking it and for a change let it look natural, but in shape. Gold shadow, pearl shadow are totally in, top this with a black liquid line, just a thin line on the top lid.
The other look that I will definitely try is grey shadow on the eye and using a white pencil to line the top of the eye, its time to experiment. Last but not the least, dabbing little shimmer shadow on the tear duct of the eye, is an instant eye refresher.
“When will you come back, we will miss you” Sarah told me more than 2 yrs ago and I still remember her and my experience working at the orphanage. Sarah is an eight grader, who lives at the orphanage along with 800 more boys and girls. All these kids live there, and bond with each other like brothers and sisters. Every summer few go and spend time with their relatives, who are really poor to take care of them. There are a few who have no where to go, the orphanage is the only family/ place they have. In just 2 weeks with these kids, I clearly saw how these kids want to be loved; want to have a family who they can treasure for ever.
We live in a good society, where safety, food, shelter all basic needs are taken for granted. But in some place, it’s hard to live each day; they feel blessed if they get food for dinner. I met this lady during one of my trips, she was telling me how happy she is since some one gave her $2 yesterday, and for the first time in months she ate good food. Can you imagine $2; can make some one so happy.
So I think that we really need to see what the reality is and think about how we can help. There are a lot of resources out there, that we can use and lot of people who need help. May be its just time for us to step out of the box and see.

How many shoes do we need to satisfy ourselves?
Almost all of us have heard these questions, one time or the other. So I just wonder if it is genetic make of a woman that we love to have different shoes. There is something about shoes that we love, may be the color or style or even price sometimes. Style of shoes doesn’t change as frequently as the colors and style of cloths… thank god for that, some people may say.
But what interests me this season is the new line of shoes, with lots of different style and colors. Few of the top picks in shoe trends are sneakers, sneakers are not sneaky anymore, they are bold , fashion forward, young, but it suits pretty much every age group and of course comfortable. The animal print shoes are totally hot, basically made for people who like to make a statement, bold, confident and out there… just one of these, will make an impact in a crowd. Next is peep – toe, retro shoes, and pumps, this includes pointy tip pumps, rounded ones, all of them looks good pretty much with everything. I am not sure how long the pointy tip shoes will last, been in style for 3 yrs now. There are also fall wedge and platform still in the market, but will slowly fade away, once winter starts.
Last but not the least, good old boot, been in fashion for ages now… always a good investment. Like I said why do women need so many shoes is still an unsolved mystery to most people… well may be it is just genetics!
