Black pepper soup : Mulagatavi soup

 Hot soup for the cold weather. Mulaga is a Tamil (south Indian language) word for pepper. Its so easy to make that it require just few steps and its very healthy. You can vary the spice level, as well as oil.

 

 

Ingredients & Method

 
 

Ingredients:

  • Pepper - 1tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1tsp
  • Dried red chili - 2 pods
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice - ½ lemon
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Water - 3 cups
  • Oil - to cook
  • Coriander leaves - ½ cup

 

Method:

  • In a pan heat 3 tsp of oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dried red chilies, pepper
  • Grind it into a course spice powder
  • In a pan heat oil add mustard seeds, add water and let it boil for sometime
  • Now add the course spice powder and then add the lemon juice
  • Last add the lemon juice and the coriander leaves and let it cook for sometime. That's it! Its done.
 

Servings:

Enough for 4 people. Adjust as needed.
